BUTTER: A Night of Pop Culture and Popcorn feat. "Stand Clear of the Closing Doors"
Stand Clear of the Closing Doors is an award-winning film from director Sam Fleischner, m ss ng p eces, and SeeThink Films. It’s a moving portrait of New York, told through the parallel journeys of a 13-year-old autistic boy and his mother. The film was shot almost entirely on the subway and on Rockaway Beach before, during and after Hurricane Sandy.
“Intense and indelible ... it is completely, exhilaratingly alive." - New York Times
"The cast is terrific, the movie is extremely well-shot up close and personal ... Fleischner’s formalist approach is admirably uningratiating." - Hoberman
"One of the most on-the-nose portrayals of the New York subway system in the past decade."
"A timely story that has been desperately needed ... a film that falls between documentary and narrative by simply being true." - Indiewire

Flowers, leaves, logs, grass, and even the sky above you. Make sure you snap a pic of each matchup – the two adventurers with the most color matches will each win a Pantone Portable Guide Studio ($499 value).
After the scavenger hunt, we’ll head to the Warwick Winery and Distillery for a little wine-down and colorful conversation.

BUTTER: A Night of Pop Culture and Popcorn feat. "The Defector"
Dragon is a human smuggler who leads North Korean defectors across borders for a living. His latest undercover trip with Sook-Ja and Yong-hee takes an unexpected turn when they are left stranded in China, putting their dramatic escape plan into question. Their perilous journey reflects the reality of tens of thousands of North Koreans currently in hiding in China. Filmed undercover by a Korean-Canadian filmmaker, Ann Shin gets intimate access with these three individuals in this POV film and explores universal questions about human rights, smuggling and the pursuit of freedom.
Had a stressful week? This trip will be a breath of fresh air. Join us as we welcome spring and rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit while taking in the scenic views of Black Rock Forest.
The adventure begins with a brief hike before enjoying a guided meditation beside an old ruin. Then we’ll set off for the first leg of the hike, a wonderful way to warm the body and calm the mind before our yoga practice.
We’ll journey around the trails, enjoy views of the valley and forest canopy, and pass some quiet lakes before finding nature's own yoga studio. There, we’ll lay out our mats for a dynamic yoga session designed to melt stress, promote circulation, create inner and outer strength, and achieve balance... all while embracing the beauty of our surroundings.
Afterwards, we’ll travel a short distance for a lunch break and find a perfect place for an optional swim. Bring your camera and swimsuit, and anything else you'd like to have as we unwind.
This hike will be an excellent trip for beginner to intermediate hikers, yoga enthusiasts, and anyone looking to ease some of the creative stress.
Price: $55 Depart: 8:30am Return: 6:00pm Bring: A daypack including: 3L of water, packed lunch, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, yoga mat. Wear: Hike appropriate/athletic or yoga clothing (no cotton!). Hiking boots are recommended. You can also pack your yoga clothing separately and change before our session.
