Most of us in the creative industry have spent the last few years obsessing over technology. Tablets, phones, and computers have changed our industry, modified our skillsets and transformed our personal lives. In doing so, we've unfortunately lost touch with the world around us.
It is impossible to be creative - whether we are concepting ads, designing a poster, shooting film or photography, or hand-crafting an illustration - if we are not balanced and in touch with nature. When I lay down in a grassy field, it grounds me. And in a strange, indirect but powerful way, I become better at my job.
Out of all the new things we're doing at the ADC, the Adventure Club is perhaps the one initiative I am personally most excited about. We will be traveling around the world to hike, kayak, dive, explore. We'll network with our peers. Reconnect with Mother Nature. And reconnect with ourselves.
The world is out there. Let's go enjoy it.
